7 products in 5 minutes...

Hands up who hits their snooze button about 3 times before they should have already been up? Yes guilty! Which usually leaves me with a bout 30 mins to shower, change and get my hair and make up done before I need to run out the door! That’s why I have perfected my make up routine to the most minimal products whilst still looking like I have made an effort. To be honest it really is just a more ‘natural’ look, which is actually effortless to do. So here it is…

1. Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream & Bobbi Brown corrector (I use the shade Dark Peach).

Okay I've counted two products as one but to be fair the corrector works better with the eye cream. These two products are by far my favourite products that I honestly could not live without. I could probably substitute other products in my list but I really couldn't with these two. The corrector covers my dark circles really well and lets be honest the mornings are when we have the worst cases of dark circles (well at least I do!). I promise you will hit the pan with this product.

2. Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer (I use the shade Almond).

I prefer using a tinted moisturizer over a foundation on daily basis, its lighter and not to mention quicker to apply. This Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer has the perfect consistency and leaves my skin looking dewy (isn't that what we all want?).

3. Sleek brow kit (in dark).

I absolutely love this product and I cannot leave my house without filling out my eyebrows! This makes such a difference to your face. The kit comes with a gel and powder setting along with a small brush and tweezers. I don't use the brush and tweezers as they are far too small, instead I use the Real Techniques brow brush which works perfectly. I apply the gel setting first and then use the powder ever so gently on my eyebrows.

4. Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil.

I quickly line my lower lashes with this and it glides on so smoothly and lasts pretty much the whole day. I use the shade demolition, which is a nice, natural brown colour.

5. Benefit they’re real mascara.

So I have not been using this for the longest time but as soon I run out of this mascara I will 100% be purchasing a new one! The wand is excellent and makes my lashes look so long, I don't even have to use a lash curler! The tip of the wand also allows you to get the small inner lashes!

6. Sleek blusher in flushed.

Sleek do great high street blushes and this is a great shade, it leaves me with those rosey cheeks as if you have been out in winter, which is perfect for now.

7. Mac lipstick in Mehr.

This is no doubt my favorite nude lipstick of all time. The shade is perfect for my skin tone and is also a matte lipstick which I definitely prefer. I have used this lipstick pretty much daily for the last two or so years and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

So there you have it, these are the products that I apply quickly when I need to leave my house in a rush to go Uni. The products or brands can obviously be substituted for something else like the tinted moisturizer for a powder foundation for those of you that have oiler skin (Mac studio fix plus is fantastic!). I hope this helps you get ready quicker and give you that extra 5 minutes in bed!!

Rings...

Let's kick-start an official post with my current obsession. I have many obsessions which are very weird but I guess that shows some what of a character in a person. Hands up who agrees!! (I wish I could insert that emoji with the girl and her hand).

So...rings, rings and more rings. In the past month I think I've accumulated a good handful of rings amongst others that I already have stashed. I have never been a person to wear much jewellery but for some unknown bizarre reason this new ring craze I'm going through has really grown on me. If it was acceptable to wear rings on all fingers of mine I would but then again I would come across as a crazy women. Or would I? Crazy or not, I just couldn't and wouldn't anyway.

Gold, silver, rustic metal, rose gold or even copper. I'm loving mixing all metals together. It gives of a more casual look then wearing all the same metal. I also like to mix all sizes of rings together whether it be small or big or just simple bands to big vintage looking crystals.
One of my favourite rings are the simple bands which are very current in the fashion world but I like to add a few bold pieces to give my fingers a little something else. My 24th birthday just went by and Mo bought me a duo of dainty jewellery from Marc Jacobs; necklace and bracelet. I absolutely love them and have worn it every day since, (not that it's been long since my birthday) especially the necklace. I love the bracelet too but in fear of it slipping out my hand I've chosen to only wear it on special occasions.
It's a good job too that she opted to gift me dainty jewellery since I don't like too much going on my neck but I
could also argue that this is probably just a phase I'm going through with wearing one two many rings seeing as my whole life I never really liked wearing rings. Maybe it's come with age? On my wrist I've always liked wearing watches; however, I think I need to purchase a new fairly oversized watch preferably in silver. The Micheal Kors rose gold one I currently have has become out dated in my eyes. Definitely think it's time for a new one, although I have other watches too, that is the one I wear usually because it's has a big round face which I like. Lets not talk about earrings. I don't wear them at all. The only time I can say I wear a pair are at weddings; this is probably once or twice a year at the most.
Rings make a block outfit not so boring.

This post has turned into a jewellery fest, I was meant to be talking about my new found love for rings and I've gone of track. Now do you see what Mo was talking about when she said we like to talk! Is this blog writing is going to be a breeze? I'm setting myself up for a writer's block now! Eeek! (Here's where I would insert the emoji gritting his teeth) Anyway let's see how long this ring obsession lasts for. I'm absolutely lusting over the YSL Saint Laurent monograme ring in gold which looks stunning with the intertwined letters of YSL wrapped around your finger. It comes in gold, silver, rose gold and even black for the hard rockafella girls out there. This ring will be mine one day....!

Thank you for reading and I hope everyone is having a well relaxed weekend assuming that its the first weekend of the year after going back to work from the Christmas break. I for one, have had a very long and slow week. Farewell and have a good one! x

Welcome...

Everyone calls me Yasmin. I truly hate saying 'My name is...', I find it all too formal. I'm a graduate in business and have no interest in it whatsoever. I'm a huge fan of photography and to be honest, that is what I should have studied. 24 years of age and I still have done nothing about it but I suppose it's never too late to start. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the field that I currently work in, which applies my skills in the business department of a Private Montessori School, meaning my role can differ time to time. I deem that a good thing as it keeps me on my toes. No one likes a lazy sod at work, however, it's a different story as soon as the clock hits 5pm and I'm home. Take off the smart clothes and into the baggy tee's; the ultimate lazy girl wear! My family would agree with that!
I'll give you a heads up, expect to read about all things healthy and keeping fit (amongst others). Not that I'm the fittest of all people but I do try. Trying is the main part! One who tries will get there eventually. It may take time but hard work will pay off one day. This goes for everything in life if you really think about it. It's all about having a goal!
I've been reading blogs and watching YouTube at every possible chance I get for the past 4 years and I can whole heartedly say I'm obsessed. 2015! New Year! New Beginnings! So here's to trying something new and the best part is... its with my beautiful best friend.

I differ from Yasmin (or Yas as I like to call her), I don’t mind saying ‘my name is’; to me knowing a person’s name is the beginning of getting to know them. So, my name is Mohini, I’m 23 and I live in London. I am a Law (LLB) graduate and currently a full-time student, studying to become a solicitor. I know what you’re thinking, everyone hates lawyers and think they are boring!! But honestly lawyers aren’t that bad and studying law is interesting (well most of time). However, it is very intense and academic and has so many rules, which is quite ironic because I never really liked rules when I was younger. God, my mum would vouch for that, I always did things my way and my dad quite affectionately called me ‘chumpa’ which in gujarati means madam. I guess you could say I was a sassy child.
I love all things beauty, fashion, food and wine! (I blame my cousins for that last one!). I’ve wanted to start a blog for the longest time but just didn’t have courage to do so. But it is a new year and that means new starts right? So it’s the perfect time to start a blog with my amazing best friend (I couldn’t let her call me beautiful and not compliment her too!! We do sound very cheesy don’t we?!).

Well now that we’ve got the introductions over and done with (hope it wasn’t too long!), here’s how we met.. at school (did you guess that? Yeah no surprise really huh?). We sort of got stuck with each other in our health and social care class in year 10. We knew of each other but didn’t really speak and we knew absolutely no one else in that class, hence the ‘stuck’ part. But it all turned out well, we’ve been best friends ever since!! Like our friend said the other day; if you see Yasmin, Mohini’s not too far behind and vice versa!

We’ll be writing about beauty products, fashion in general and our adventures around London and possibly other places. Those adventures will quite heavily be focused on food, coffee, tea and wine. Hope you enjoy!!
